The full refurbishment of the Roche Diagnostics Bangkok office delivers a forward-thinking environment, a world-class ‘Hub’ that embodies the company’s dedication to innovation, collaboration, and a human-centered design approach. By prioritizing flexibility and openness, the project successfully fosters a strong sense of community among employees.

A key structural achievement of the design was connecting previously isolated floors to strengthen this community feel. This was accomplished by relocating the reception in the upper floor, activating the fire stairs, and introducing a collaboration lounge for brainstorming and informal gatherings -the new heart of the office- on the lower level.

Visitors are greeted by an open reception area that sets a welcoming tone. The spatial layout flows from public, active areas to more private, quiet zones, and emphasizes visual transparency, enabling natural light to penetrate deep into the floor plate. To accommodate Roche’s evolving work culture, the workspace provides a diverse array of typologies including collaborative tables and informal lounges for dynamic teamwork, focus and phone rooms, and hybrid-ready meeting hubs that range from enclosed conference rooms to semi-open spaces. The program is completed by a cafeteria, gym, training labs, and dedicated training rooms.

The new workplace beautifully balances Roche design philosophy with a subtle Thai sensibility, drawing inspiration from local hospitality, craftsmanship, and Thailand’s world-renowned gastronomy. The curated material palette features natural textures and locally crafted details that root the office in its local identity. Inspired by the intense nature of Thai spices and cuisine, the color scheme grows from more neutral hues for quiet zones and vibrant, energetic colors to bring life to active spaces. Restrained golden metal accents pay homage to the country’s iconic golden temples, while lush greenery throughout the office celebrates Thailand’s magnificent natural vegetation.

The refurbishment provides a dynamic workspace that supports innovation, strengthens team bonds, and elevates the employee experience while celebrating Bangkok’s vibrant character.
